Narrative:
We were cleared to land on runway 18. After we landed, we were close to runway 13 so we did a 180 degree turn and back taxi to runway 13 to taxi to the ramp (position 1). The tower had an aircraft on runway 13 ready for takeoff that we had in sight (position 2), he saw what was happening or what we were doing and said 'piper, what are you doing, 180 and get out of there, taxi to taxiway D then to the ramp.' we did as instructed. He then asked for my name and address and phone number, just in case. The airport had a flight school competition on that day and was busy.
