Narrative:
Landed at st louis, runway 12R. All exits off runway were blocked until B1 due to taxiing out aircraft. Tower told us to expedite to B1. He put 1 aircraft in position and had another one on short final. Tower then told us to hurry. I believe sits like this put people in jeopardy. Heavier braking than normal was required to accommodate ATC. At st louis, this happens all the time. Tower pressures crews to expedite on the runway and exit fast. Too many times, tower allows 1 aircraft to roll out, another into position and hold, and another on short final. This results in too many aircraft on the runway at the same time.
