Narrative:
On 11/sun/01 at approximately XA45 hours, I flew over ZZZ airport which I had previously determined to be outside of a temperature restr airspace area near a nuclear power plant. I had been monitoring 121.5, however, I had turned the volume down on communication 2 to monitor CTAF for a nearby airport's traffic. Upon return to YYY airport I was advised to telephone approach control. I spoke to the supervising controller who stated that ZZZ airport was 'in fact' within the temperature restr airspace. The supervisor stated he was providing this information so I would avoid the area by a wider berth in the future. A check of the sectional chart revealed my calculation error. I will exercise greater care in the future. Note: the supervisor stated he would not be taking any further action and nothing further was required from me.

Narrative: ON 11/SUN/01 AT APPROX XA45 HRS, I FLEW OVER ZZZ ARPT WHICH I HAD PREVIOUSLY DETERMINED TO BE OUTSIDE OF A TEMP RESTR AIRSPACE AREA NEAR A NUCLEAR PWR PLANT. I HAD BEEN MONITORING 121.5, HOWEVER, I HAD TURNED THE VOLUME DOWN ON COM 2 TO MONITOR CTAF FOR A NEARBY ARPT'S TFC. UPON RETURN TO YYY ARPT I WAS ADVISED TO TELEPHONE APCH CTL. I SPOKE TO THE SUPERVISING CTLR WHO STATED THAT ZZZ ARPT WAS 'IN FACT' WITHIN THE TEMP RESTR AIRSPACE. THE SUPVR STATED HE WAS PROVIDING THIS INFORMATION SO I WOULD AVOID THE AREA BY A WIDER BERTH IN THE FUTURE. A CHECK OF THE SECTIONAL CHART REVEALED MY CALCULATION ERROR. I WILL EXERCISE GREATER CARE IN THE FUTURE. NOTE: THE SUPVR STATED HE WOULD NOT BE TAKING ANY FURTHER ACTION AND NOTHING FURTHER WAS REQUIRED FROM ME.
