Narrative:
Helicopter windshield repaired outside the limits of approved data according to mcdonnell douglas helicopter company structural repair manual (customer service procedures srm-6). Interpretation of mcdonnell douglas helicopter company's maintenance manual (customer service procedures HM1-2) resulted in application of a plastic patch for repair of windshield crack in accordance with FAA advisory circular 43.13 (customer service procedures HM1-2) chapter 53-10-00 paragraph 6 makes allowance for repairs of plastics in accordance with FAA advisory circular 43.13. (Customer service procedures srm 6) chapter 53-10-00 paragraph 2(a) and (B) requires replacement of plastics when cracked. During preflight by ZZZ1 FSDO's inspectors, obtained ferry permit, transported helicopter to company's base of operations, then grounding of helicopter until windshield replacements occurs. Removal of reference to FAA advisory circular 43.13 from chapter 53-10-00 paragraph 6 (customer service procedures HM1-2)

Narrative: HELI WINDSHIELD REPAIRED OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF APPROVED DATA ACCORDING TO MCDONNELL DOUGLAS HELI COMPANY STRUCTURAL REPAIR MANUAL (CUSTOMER SVC PROCS SRM-6). INTERP OF MCDONNELL DOUGLAS HELI COMPANY'S MAINT MANUAL (CUSTOMER SVC PROCS HM1-2) RESULTED IN APPLICATION OF A PLASTIC PATCH FOR REPAIR OF WINDSHIELD CRACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAA ADVISORY CIRCULAR 43.13 (CUSTOMER SVC PROCS HM1-2) CHAPTER 53-10-00 PARAGRAPH 6 MAKES ALLOWANCE FOR REPAIRS OF PLASTICS IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAA ADVISORY CIRCULAR 43.13.
