Narrative:

We were assigned a non company gate for overnight parking at msp. This gate is not depicted on any of our charts. After landing on runway 30R, ATC directed us to turn left on taxiway Q to the gate. We did not know where the gate was, nor was operations answering the radio, causing the first officer to be distracted looking for alternate frequency. Taxiway Q and P are the same piece of concrete, and I only saw P taxi line and a vehicle lane. As I was looking for the gate, I only realized I was on taxiway P when ATC said to move over the right, and an rj was taxiing towards us on taxiway P. We were not in danger of colliding with the rj, but multiple distractions caused us to be closer than we should have been. I believe lack of familiarity with the airport, and that terminal area in particular led to this incident.

Title: AN AIRBUS 320 RPTS BEING ASSIGNED TO A GATE NOT IDENTIFIED ON CURRENT ARPT CHARTS RESULTING IN TXWY CONGESTION.

Narrative: WE WERE ASSIGNED A NON COMPANY GATE FOR OVERNIGHT PARKING AT MSP. THIS GATE IS NOT DEPICTED ON ANY OF OUR CHARTS. AFTER LNDG ON RWY 30R, ATC DIRECTED US TO TURN L ON TXWY Q TO THE GATE. WE DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE GATE WAS, NOR WAS OPS ANSWERING THE RADIO, CAUSING THE FO TO BE DISTRACTED LOOKING FOR ALTERNATE FREQUENCY. TXWY Q AND P ARE THE SAME PIECE OF CONCRETE, AND I ONLY SAW P TAXI LINE AND A VEHICLE LANE. AS I WAS LOOKING FOR THE GATE, I ONLY REALIZED I WAS ON TXWY P WHEN ATC SAID TO MOVE OVER THE R, AND AN RJ WAS TAXIING TOWARDS US ON TXWY P. WE WERE NOT IN DANGER OF COLLIDING WITH THE RJ, BUT MULTIPLE DISTRACTIONS CAUSED US TO BE CLOSER THAN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I BELIEVE LACK OF FAMILIARITY WITH THE ARPT, AND THAT TERMINAL AREA IN PARTICULAR LED TO THIS INCIDENT.
