Narrative:
After completion of the 'before takeoff checklist, below the line', we departed runway 27L at ord. During climb out, we were instructed to copy a telephone number for ord tower. After our landing ZZZ, us, we called the tower and discovered we allegedly took off without a proper clearance. This event was likely caused by radio chatter as our company requires us to monitor our operations frequency as well as normal ATC communications. Also due to the lack of traffic tower was working several runways at once. Add to this bleed over from other controllers, and pilot fatigue and you have a possibility of this happening. This may have been prevented by a tangible, physical action confirming we have been cleared to go, such as turning on the landing lights, etc. Vigilance is very important, as it only takes a heart beat to destroy a career.

Title: DO328 CREW TOOK OFF WITHOUT TKOF CLRNC AT ORD.
Narrative: AFTER COMPLETION OF THE 'BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST, BELOW THE LINE', WE DEPARTED RWY 27L AT ORD. DURING CLBOUT, WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO COPY A TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR ORD TWR. AFTER OUR LNDG ZZZ, US, WE CALLED THE TWR AND DISCOVERED WE ALLEGEDLY TOOK OFF WITHOUT A PROPER CLRNC. THIS EVENT WAS LIKELY CAUSED BY RADIO CHATTER AS OUR COMPANY REQUIRES US TO MONITOR OUR OPS FREQ AS WELL AS NORMAL ATC COMS. ALSO DUE TO THE LACK OF TFC TWR WAS WORKING SEVERAL RWYS AT ONCE. ADD TO THIS BLEED OVER FROM OTHER CTLRS, AND PLT FATIGUE AND YOU HAVE A POSSIBILITY OF THIS HAPPENING. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY A TANGIBLE, PHYSICAL ACTION CONFIRMING WE HAVE BEEN CLRED TO GO, SUCH AS TURNING ON THE LNDG LIGHTS, ETC. VIGILANCE IS VERY IMPORTANT, AS IT ONLY TAKES A HEART BEAT TO DESTROY A CAREER.
