Narrative:
I am a new captain and was on my first trip off of IOE. I was flying with a new first officer with less than 100 hours in the aircraft. He had never flown to atl before and was busy and missed a radio call. Ground called twice and I answered and replied. I was involved with running my cockpit tests and I was also unfamiliar with atl airport. We missed our hold short of taxiway H and turned on a different taxiway. Controller was very upset, although we never caused any safety issues and were not on any runways at all. In retrospect, I believe I repeated the hold short instructions but got distraction due to task overload due to my inexperience as a captain and unfamiliarity with atl, and the inexperience of my first officer as well.
