Narrative:
On taxi-out from gate ZZZ to runway 27L instruction were taxi via taxiway east to taxiway south for runway 27L. Midway through the taxi on taxiway south tower advised us of a route change. The change was minor and we were soon on our way again. I had not been to phl for sometime so I was not very familiar with the txwys. The first officer had never been to phl. When we approached taxiway 'sa' I asked him if that was the taxiway for runway 27L and he said yes. The taxiway we actually needed was taxiway 'S2.' our taxi path took us across the approach of runway 27L if it was in use for lndgs, but fortunately phl was landing runway 27R. There was no conflict or runway incursion. We were able to continue on taxiway 'sa' to get to runway 27L for takeoff. Night taxi, unfamiliar airport, a reroute while taxiing all contributed.

Title: A CARJ CREW, TAXIING FOR TKOF AT PHL, TURNED WHERE THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO AND FOUND THEMSELVES ON THE WRONG TXWY.
Narrative: ON TAXI-OUT FROM GATE ZZZ TO RWY 27L INSTRUCTION WERE TAXI VIA TXWY E TO TXWY S FOR RWY 27L. MIDWAY THROUGH THE TAXI ON TXWY S TWR ADVISED US OF A RTE CHANGE. THE CHANGE WAS MINOR AND WE WERE SOON ON OUR WAY AGAIN. I HAD NOT BEEN TO PHL FOR SOMETIME SO I WAS NOT VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE TXWYS. THE FO HAD NEVER BEEN TO PHL. WHEN WE APCHED TXWY 'SA' I ASKED HIM IF THAT WAS THE TXWY FOR RWY 27L AND HE SAID YES. THE TXWY WE ACTUALLY NEEDED WAS TXWY 'S2.' OUR TAXI PATH TOOK US ACROSS THE APCH OF RWY 27L IF IT WAS IN USE FOR LNDGS, BUT FORTUNATELY PHL WAS LNDG RWY 27R. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT OR RWY INCURSION. WE WERE ABLE TO CONTINUE ON TXWY 'SA' TO GET TO RWY 27L FOR TKOF. NIGHT TAXI, UNFAMILIAR ARPT, A REROUTE WHILE TAXIING ALL CONTRIBUTED.
