Narrative:
Theoretically on course inbound to tbe, 087 degree course inbound at 100 DME, #2 autoplt on, using VOR track mode of FMS. ATC asked us where we were going. Told them on course 087 degrees to tbe. ATC claimed we were headed to laa, not tbe. ATC had to give another aircraft a 40 degree turn because of our course. Tbe was correctly idented, course bar on HSI was centered. We turned 30 degrees right (as instructed) to get back to tbe, still showing on course with bar centered. We thought the large crab angle was due to winter winds, but this particular aircraft had no INS, and no TCASII either.

Title: A DC10-10 CARGO FLT IS 30 DEGS OFF HDG FOR A DIRECT TO TBE AND IS CORRECTED BY ZDV CTLR AFTER A POTENTIAL TFC CONFLICT WHEN PIC BELIEVES FLT IS ON COURSE 100 MI FROM TBE, CO.
Narrative: THEORETICALLY ON COURSE INBOUND TO TBE, 087 DEG COURSE INBOUND AT 100 DME, #2 AUTOPLT ON, USING VOR TRACK MODE OF FMS. ATC ASKED US WHERE WE WERE GOING. TOLD THEM ON COURSE 087 DEGS TO TBE. ATC CLAIMED WE WERE HEADED TO LAA, NOT TBE. ATC HAD TO GIVE ANOTHER ACFT A 40 DEG TURN BECAUSE OF OUR COURSE. TBE WAS CORRECTLY IDENTED, COURSE BAR ON HSI WAS CTRED. WE TURNED 30 DEGS R (AS INSTRUCTED) TO GET BACK TO TBE, STILL SHOWING ON COURSE WITH BAR CTRED. WE THOUGHT THE LARGE CRAB ANGLE WAS DUE TO WINTER WINDS, BUT THIS PARTICULAR ACFT HAD NO INS, AND NO TCASII EITHER.
