Narrative:
South of rikks intersection, moderate/occasional severe turbulence. During climb we encountered moderate turbulence without much warning. Flight attendants were advised to be seated, but did not have time before the turbulence. 1 flight attendant was struck on the knee by a falling beverage container. She was attended by an onboard doctor, but could not return to work. A female passenger had an anxiety attack, but was calmed down. Disp was contacted and the decision was to continue to nrt. Delay deployment of carts, etc, by flight attendants until flight reaches safe cruise altitude. Due to new security procedures, I feel unable to properly handle a situation with turbulence and possible injury. I was not even able to talk with the injured flight attendant. I had to make decisions based on information that I feel that I should have investigated.
