Narrative:
Private student pilot, mr X, was on his first solo in a C152 when he experienced total electrical failure 10 NM northwest of fxe airport. After troubleshooting the problem from his checklist, student attempted communications. Student lost all communications and immediately proceeded to fxe airport where upon the student squawked 7600, entered class D airspace and expected to see light gun signals from the tower. Upon receiving no signals from the tower, he made a straight-in approach for runway 13 anticipating light gun signals. Student landed aircraft and proceeded to taxi to company X ramp, once again looking for signals from the tower and observing none. 2 days later, the instructor and student flew a remedial flight in a C172 from fxe to north perry airport (hwo) discussing electrical failure procedures and lost communications procedures. Touch-and-goes were performed at hwo, with 5 of those requesting light gun signals from tower both on the ground and in the air for student to observe. Signals were also requested upon return landing to fxe both on ground and in the air.

Title: A STUDENT PLT DEALS WITH COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE ON HIS FIRST SOLO FLT.
Narrative: PVT STUDENT PLT, MR X, WAS ON HIS FIRST SOLO IN A C152 WHEN HE EXPERIENCED TOTAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE 10 NM NW OF FXE ARPT. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING THE PROB FROM HIS CHKLIST, STUDENT ATTEMPTED COMS. STUDENT LOST ALL COMS AND IMMEDIATELY PROCEEDED TO FXE ARPT WHERE UPON THE STUDENT SQUAWKED 7600, ENTERED CLASS D AIRSPACE AND EXPECTED TO SEE LIGHT GUN SIGNALS FROM THE TWR. UPON RECEIVING NO SIGNALS FROM THE TWR, HE MADE A STRAIGHT-IN APCH FOR RWY 13 ANTICIPATING LIGHT GUN SIGNALS. STUDENT LANDED ACFT AND PROCEEDED TO TAXI TO COMPANY X RAMP, ONCE AGAIN LOOKING FOR SIGNALS FROM THE TWR AND OBSERVING NONE. 2 DAYS LATER, THE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT FLEW A REMEDIAL FLT IN A C172 FROM FXE TO NORTH PERRY ARPT (HWO) DISCUSSING ELECTRICAL FAILURE PROCS AND LOST COMS PROCS. TOUCH-AND-GOES WERE PERFORMED AT HWO, WITH 5 OF THOSE REQUESTING LIGHT GUN SIGNALS FROM TWR BOTH ON THE GND AND IN THE AIR FOR STUDENT TO OBSERVE. SIGNALS WERE ALSO REQUESTED UPON RETURN LNDG TO FXE BOTH ON GND AND IN THE AIR.
