Narrative:

I listened to AWOS at ijx on 108.6 and the pittsfield on 118.5W. It was clear sky, 10 mi visibility and gusting winds from the south on the surface 20-29 KTS. I chose to land runway 13. While on final the wind was really very strong and gusting. I had a speed of 95-100 mi indicated, mixture and propeller all the way forward. At the threshold there was a sudden change in the speed to 60 KTS. I pushed the throttle forward -- a gust of wind pointed the nose to the left as I pulled up to go around. The aircraft apparently touched the ground and some runway lights in an attitude that I could not see very well momentarily and then I was wings level and climbing. I believe that all this happened due to a windshear followed by a strong gust of wind from the right, with the aircraft now moving slower and not responding to input as well. I then proceeded to go around and made another approach and landed runway 13. When I stopped at the gas pump, to my surprise I had a bent propeller at the tips and some buckling of the flaps, which were lowered all the way for the landing. Damage from contact with ground/lights? Pittsfield airport is a non tower facility and there was no one there about XA00 on sunday. It is hard to cope with nature's strong physical challenges. Wish my speed was a bit faster at the threshold.

Title: BEECH BONANZA 35A PLT LOST CTL DURING LNDG IN STRONG GUSTY SURFACE WINDSHEAR RESULTING IN HITTING 2 RWY EDGE LIGHTS BEFORE GOING AROUND AND SUBSEQUENTLY LNDG WITHOUT ANY FURTHER DIFFICULTY. THE ACFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE PROP AND FLAPS.

Narrative: I LISTENED TO AWOS AT IJX ON 108.6 AND THE PITTSFIELD ON 118.5W. IT WAS CLR SKY, 10 MI VISIBILITY AND GUSTING WINDS FROM THE S ON THE SURFACE 20-29 KTS. I CHOSE TO LAND RWY 13. WHILE ON FINAL THE WIND WAS REALLY VERY STRONG AND GUSTING. I HAD A SPD OF 95-100 MI INDICATED, MIXTURE AND PROP ALL THE WAY FORWARD. AT THE THRESHOLD THERE WAS A SUDDEN CHANGE IN THE SPD TO 60 KTS. I PUSHED THE THROTTLE FORWARD -- A GUST OF WIND POINTED THE NOSE TO THE L AS I PULLED UP TO GO AROUND. THE ACFT APPARENTLY TOUCHED THE GND AND SOME RWY LIGHTS IN AN ATTITUDE THAT I COULD NOT SEE VERY WELL MOMENTARILY AND THEN I WAS WINGS LEVEL AND CLBING. I BELIEVE THAT ALL THIS HAPPENED DUE TO A WINDSHEAR FOLLOWED BY A STRONG GUST OF WIND FROM THE R, WITH THE ACFT NOW MOVING SLOWER AND NOT RESPONDING TO INPUT AS WELL. I THEN PROCEEDED TO GO AROUND AND MADE ANOTHER APCH AND LANDED RWY 13. WHEN I STOPPED AT THE GAS PUMP, TO MY SURPRISE I HAD A BENT PROP AT THE TIPS AND SOME BUCKLING OF THE FLAPS, WHICH WERE LOWERED ALL THE WAY FOR THE LNDG. DAMAGE FROM CONTACT WITH GND/LIGHTS? PITTSFIELD ARPT IS A NON TWR FACILITY AND THERE WAS NO ONE THERE ABOUT XA00 ON SUNDAY. IT IS HARD TO COPE WITH NATURE'S STRONG PHYSICAL CHALLENGES. WISH MY SPD WAS A BIT FASTER AT THE THRESHOLD.
