Narrative:
On a night time visual approach to runway 17 ckv, I completed the before landing checklist 8 mi out. I had the beacon but not the runway in sight. Becoming too low and slow to acquire a runway visual, I raised the flaps and gear. On final, I put down the flaps but failed to do the landing checklist again. I instinctively leveled off when the wheels should have touched. While flying at gear ht above runway, the propeller lightly contacted the surface. Immediately I increased upward pitch and then power to make a safe go around and landing with gear down. On go around, I gave myself time to go through the before landing checklist.

Title: THE PLT OF A PIPER PA28-201 ARROW EXECUTED A GAR AFTER HEARING THE PROP STRIKE ON THE RWY AND RETURNED TO MAKE A SAFE LNDG AFTER PUTTING THE LNDG GEAR DOWN. THE PROP TIPS WERE CURLED AS THE ONLY ACFT DAMAGE.
Narrative: ON A NIGHT TIME VISUAL APCH TO RWY 17 CKV, I COMPLETED THE BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST 8 MI OUT. I HAD THE BEACON BUT NOT THE RWY IN SIGHT. BECOMING TOO LOW AND SLOW TO ACQUIRE A RWY VISUAL, I RAISED THE FLAPS AND GEAR. ON FINAL, I PUT DOWN THE FLAPS BUT FAILED TO DO THE LNDG CHKLIST AGAIN. I INSTINCTIVELY LEVELED OFF WHEN THE WHEELS SHOULD HAVE TOUCHED. WHILE FLYING AT GEAR HT ABOVE RWY, THE PROP LIGHTLY CONTACTED THE SURFACE. IMMEDIATELY I INCREASED UPWARD PITCH AND THEN PWR TO MAKE A SAFE GAR AND LNDG WITH GEAR DOWN. ON GAR, I GAVE MYSELF TIME TO GO THROUGH THE BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST.
