Narrative:
We were just starting to taxi from the deicing area abeam taxiway east at alb, making the turn towards taxiway a with instructions to proceed to runway 19. Taxiing towards taxiway a we were told to 'stop,' by the ground controller. We complied instantly. Once stopped I realized that I had crossed taxiway a and was on taxiway east just short of the runway hold short line. We thanked the controller and made a 180 degree turn back to taxiway a. The ramp area and taxiway a in the vicinity of taxiway east is all blacktop. In the snow it is hard to see the line markings, thus making taxiway east look like the leadoff to taxiway a, when in fact it is the leadoff to runway 1-19. I suggest flashing warning lights at the hold short point of taxiway east. Supplemental information from acn 541820: our aircraft was given taxi instructions from the deice pad to runway 19. The deicing pad does not have any kind of lighting or an island between the part of the ramp we were on and taxiway a. Our instructions were to taxi from deice on taxiway a to runway 19. I had the airport diagram out and asked the captain (who was in control of the aircraft) if he needed any help getting to taxiway a from where we were. He said no, so I continued with my first officer's duties. I was programming the GPS which is in our SOP's for me to do as long as the captain is looking outside and taxiing. I felt him not make the turn onto taxiway a like I thought he would so I looked up and when I did I realized we had crossed taxiway a and was on taxiway east heading right onto the runway. As I looked out the window I could see the hold short line. However, the ground controller said stop before we crossed it. But if he had not said stop when he did he probably would have crossed it onto the active runway 19. We then proceeded to a 180 degrees and turn back onto taxiway a and continue the proper way to the runway. The WX conditions didn't help. It was snowing and we had just got deiced and so the fluid was obscuring our view a little.

Title: B190 CREW HAD A TXWY INCURSION, AND ALMOST HAD RWY INCURSION AT ALB.
Narrative: WE WERE JUST STARTING TO TAXI FROM THE DEICING AREA ABEAM TXWY E AT ALB, MAKING THE TURN TOWARDS TXWY A WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO PROCEED TO RWY 19. TAXIING TOWARDS TXWY A WE WERE TOLD TO 'STOP,' BY THE GND CTLR. WE COMPLIED INSTANTLY. ONCE STOPPED I REALIZED THAT I HAD CROSSED TXWY A AND WAS ON TXWY E JUST SHORT OF THE RWY HOLD SHORT LINE. WE THANKED THE CTLR AND MADE A 180 DEG TURN BACK TO TXWY A. THE RAMP AREA AND TXWY A IN THE VICINITY OF TXWY E IS ALL BLACKTOP. IN THE SNOW IT IS HARD TO SEE THE LINE MARKINGS, THUS MAKING TXWY E LOOK LIKE THE LEADOFF TO TXWY A, WHEN IN FACT IT IS THE LEADOFF TO RWY 1-19. I SUGGEST FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS AT THE HOLD SHORT POINT OF TXWY E. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 541820: OUR ACFT WAS GIVEN TAXI INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE DEICE PAD TO RWY 19. THE DEICING PAD DOES NOT HAVE ANY KIND OF LIGHTING OR AN ISLAND BTWN THE PART OF THE RAMP WE WERE ON AND TXWY A. OUR INSTRUCTIONS WERE TO TAXI FROM DEICE ON TXWY A TO RWY 19. I HAD THE ARPT DIAGRAM OUT AND ASKED THE CAPT (WHO WAS IN CTL OF THE ACFT) IF HE NEEDED ANY HELP GETTING TO TXWY A FROM WHERE WE WERE. HE SAID NO, SO I CONTINUED WITH MY FO'S DUTIES. I WAS PROGRAMMING THE GPS WHICH IS IN OUR SOP'S FOR ME TO DO AS LONG AS THE CAPT IS LOOKING OUTSIDE AND TAXIING. I FELT HIM NOT MAKE THE TURN ONTO TXWY A LIKE I THOUGHT HE WOULD SO I LOOKED UP AND WHEN I DID I REALIZED WE HAD CROSSED TXWY A AND WAS ON TXWY E HEADING RIGHT ONTO THE RWY. AS I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW I COULD SEE THE HOLD SHORT LINE. HOWEVER, THE GND CTLR SAID STOP BEFORE WE CROSSED IT. BUT IF HE HAD NOT SAID STOP WHEN HE DID HE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE CROSSED IT ONTO THE ACTIVE RWY 19. WE THEN PROCEEDED TO A 180 DEGS AND TURN BACK ONTO TXWY A AND CONTINUE THE PROPER WAY TO THE RWY. THE WX CONDITIONS DIDN'T HELP. IT WAS SNOWING AND WE HAD JUST GOT DEICED AND SO THE FLUID WAS OBSCURING OUR VIEW A LITTLE.
