Narrative:
Normal departure and climb out. Approaching final altitude, FL210, #1 engine flamed out. No N2 indication. Checklist followed and an emergency declared. Passenger 122, crew 8. Landing weight 103000 pounds. The flameout occurred at the halfway point between sat-hou. Single engine approach/descent, ILS runway 12R. Maximum braking used. Landing uneventful. Emergency canceled after landing. My thanks to my first officer and cockpit jump seaters (names/numbers). 1 jump seater helped the first officer and the other helped with the opc, contacting dispatch and backing me up on my decisions. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: captain, reporter stated the engine just flamed out and no restart was possible. The reporter said all engine indications were operating except the N2 indicator which stayed at zero and appeared the N2 rotor had seized. The reporter stated on the ground the N2 rotor was free and turned smoothly. The reporter said maintenance advised the crew this engine was a scheduled engine change for the midnight shift. First officer, the reporter stated on climb at FL210 the engine flamed out with no restart. The reporter said no details of the cause of the flameout were released by maintenance.

Narrative: NORMAL DEP AND CLBOUT. APCHING FINAL ALT, FL210, #1 ENG FLAMED OUT. NO N2 INDICATION. CHKLIST FOLLOWED AND AN EMER DECLARED. PAX 122, CREW 8. LNDG WT 103000 LBS. THE FLAMEOUT OCCURRED AT THE HALFWAY POINT BTWN SAT-HOU. SINGLE ENG APCH/DSCNT, ILS RWY 12R. MAX BRAKING USED. LNDG UNEVENTFUL. EMER CANCELED AFTER LNDG. MY THANKS TO MY FO AND COCKPIT JUMP SEATERS (NAMES/NUMBERS). 1 JUMP SEATER HELPED THE FO AND THE OTHER HELPED WITH THE OPC, CONTACTING DISPATCH AND BACKING ME UP ON MY DECISIONS.
