Narrative:
On approach into day, captain called us both on interphone. Calmly explained situation and had us prepare cabin for arrival. Explained to passenger situation then. Some passenger began to be upset, but we remained calm. Most anxious experience was the time it took to manual perform cockpit duties manually (eg, landing gear, flaps). Passenger 1 1/2 hours were very patient and cooperative, but you could tell were emotionally concerned. After landed, captain called flight attendant interphone and explained landing gear has tendency to collapse on this aircraft and to remain in seatbelts until at gate. The captain was very professional and calm during entire incident. He kept us and passenger very informed. I was impressed by him. Also 1 other point, being a ZZZ based flight attendant with all other crew members ZZZ1 based, I was touched by ZZZ1 operations calling the captain and ZZZ1 based flight attendant #1 to see how they were.
