Narrative:
Taxi instructions at bos were from terminal X taxi K, west, south, hold short of runway 4L. On taxi out to runway 09 at bos we were told to hold short of runway 4L (I think). I (co-pilot) was heads down doing perf update, starting #2 engine at the same time listening to the PA to see when the safety demonstration video ended so I could make the announcement for the flight attendants to prepare the cabin for takeoff (we were next). I looked up and saw the hold line go under the nose. I said 'stop.' the captain immediately stopped the aircraft, but we were about 2 feet over the hold line. Seconds later tower told us to cross runway 4L and taxi into position on runway 09. There was no conflict and the captain is sure we were cleared to cross runway 4L initially, but I'm not so sure. Problems that led to this possible incursion: 1) originally we were told to go to the 'bravo hold point.' this usually gives us lots of time to start #1 engine. But halfway out kilo we were given K, west, south, hold short. So time was compressed for engine start. 2) perf #'south had to be reentered due to update of weight so I was short of time. 3) company recently added a spanish edition to the safety video so it takes longer and catching the end of the tape becomes important, otherwise the flight attendant's launch into non-required company information, and they get mad if you interrupt them. Next time I will ask the captain to stop the aircraft at a convenient place until I get everything done. There is too much going on in 2 man aircraft to keep going.

Title: A FULL RWY INCURSION PREVENTED BY THE FO WHEN THE PIC BELIEVES HE IS CLRED TO CROSS RWY 04L AT BOS, MA.
Narrative: TAXI INSTRUCTIONS AT BOS WERE FROM TERMINAL X TAXI K, W, S, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 4L. ON TAXI OUT TO RWY 09 AT BOS WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 4L (I THINK). I (CO-PLT) WAS HEADS DOWN DOING PERF UPDATE, STARTING #2 ENGINE AT THE SAME TIME LISTENING TO THE PA TO SEE WHEN THE SAFETY DEMO VIDEO ENDED SO I COULD MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE FLT ATTENDANTS TO PREPARE THE CABIN FOR TKOF (WE WERE NEXT). I LOOKED UP AND SAW THE HOLD LINE GO UNDER THE NOSE. I SAID 'STOP.' THE CAPT IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ACFT, BUT WE WERE ABOUT 2 FEET OVER THE HOLD LINE. SECONDS LATER TWR TOLD US TO CROSS RWY 4L AND TAXI INTO POS ON RWY 09. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT AND THE CAPT IS SURE WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS RWY 4L INITIALLY, BUT I'M NOT SO SURE. PROBS THAT LED TO THIS POSSIBLE INCURSION: 1) ORIGINALLY WE WERE TOLD TO GO TO THE 'BRAVO HOLD POINT.' THIS USUALLY GIVES US LOTS OF TIME TO START #1 ENGINE. BUT HALFWAY OUT KILO WE WERE GIVEN K, W, S, HOLD SHORT. SO TIME WAS COMPRESSED FOR ENGINE START. 2) PERF #'S HAD TO BE REENTERED DUE TO UPDATE OF WEIGHT SO I WAS SHORT OF TIME. 3) COMPANY RECENTLY ADDED A SPANISH EDITION TO THE SAFETY VIDEO SO IT TAKES LONGER AND CATCHING THE END OF THE TAPE BECOMES IMPORTANT, OTHERWISE THE FA'S LAUNCH INTO NON-REQUIRED COMPANY INFO, AND THEY GET MAD IF YOU INTERRUPT THEM. NEXT TIME I WILL ASK THE CAPT TO STOP THE ACFT AT A CONVENIENT PLACE UNTIL I GET EVERYTHING DONE. THERE IS TOO MUCH GOING ON IN 2 MAN ACFT TO KEEP GOING.
