Air Traffic Incident | Pilot Deviation |
Narrative:
Phl ground control assigned our flight to taxi from spot 12 to 27L via echo with a hold short of runway 27R. Instructions were reviewed with the captain accordingly (captain acknowledged the route clearance and was familiar with the taxi route assigned). For unknown reasons the captain upon leaving spot 12 enter taxiway H, which intersected with runway 35. Before I was able to catch the error our flight entered runway 35. (This was my first flight as a crew member operating and departure from phl international airport). I was unfamiliar with airport and taxi rtes. To correct problem: do not rely on the other pilot totally. Indicating they knew the route. (Have my own situation awareness before the aircraft moves). Other pilot reported tired/fatigued. At time of incident no hazard or no conflicts took place between our flight or any other aircraft. No further action was requested of the tower ground control other than new taxi instructions. Supplemental information from acn 543522: taxi clearance, taxi east, hold short runway 27R. Taxied on to runway 35 from hotel 1 taxi, I should have turned right at echo, but continued to and turned onto runway 35. I considered human performance and judgement to be the problem. Due to six days on duty with 24 hours rest (averaging 29-30 hours in 7 days for 3 weeks).

Title: TXWY AND RWY INCURSION BY THE PIC OF SF-340 DURING A DAYLIGHT TAXI OP AT PHL, PA.
Narrative: PHL GND CTL ASSIGNED OUR FLT TO TAXI FROM SPOT 12 TO 27L VIA ECHO WITH A HOLD SHORT OF RWY 27R. INSTRUCTIONS WERE REVIEWED WITH THE CAPT ACCORDINGLY (CAPT ACKNOWLEDGED THE RTE CLRNC AND WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE TAXI RTE ASSIGNED). FOR UNKNOWN REASONS THE CAPT UPON LEAVING SPOT 12 ENTER TXWY H, WHICH INTERSECTED WITH RWY 35. BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO CATCH THE ERROR OUR FLT ENTERED RWY 35. (THIS WAS MY FIRST FLT AS A CREW MEMBER OPERATING AND DEP FROM PHL INTL ARPT). I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH ARPT AND TAXI RTES. TO CORRECT PROB: DO NOT RELY ON THE OTHER PLT TOTALLY. INDICATING THEY KNEW THE RTE. (HAVE MY OWN SIT AWARENESS BEFORE THE ACFT MOVES). OTHER PLT REPORTED TIRED/FATIGUED. AT TIME OF INCIDENT NO HAZARD OR NO CONFLICTS TOOK PLACE BETWEEN OUR FLT OR ANY OTHER ACFT. NO FURTHER ACTION WAS REQUESTED OF THE TWR GND CTL OTHER THAN NEW TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 543522: TAXI CLRNC, TAXI E, HOLD SHORT RWY 27R. TAXIED ON TO RWY 35 FROM HOTEL 1 TAXI, I SHOULD HAVE TURNED R AT ECHO, BUT CONTINUED TO AND TURNED ONTO RWY 35. I CONSIDERED HUMAN PERFORMANCE AND JUDGEMENT TO BE THE PROB. DUE TO SIX DAYS ON DUTY WITH 24 HRS REST (AVERAGING 29-30 HRS IN 7 DAYS FOR 3 WEEKS).
