Narrative:
Cleared for the approach ILS runway 8L, autoplt on, slowing to 160 KTS, localizer captured. Approximately 5 mi from FAF, aircraft entered the go around mode with no input from crew. During recovery from go around mode, we exceeded ATC assigned altitude by approximately 800-900 ft. We then asked for a missed approach and landed without incident .320 approach mode was activated and confirmed.

Narrative: CLRED FOR THE APCH ILS RWY 8L, AUTOPLT ON, SLOWING TO 160 KTS, LOC CAPTURED. APPROX 5 MI FROM FAF, ACFT ENTERED THE GAR MODE WITH NO INPUT FROM CREW. DURING RECOVERY FROM GAR MODE, WE EXCEEDED ATC ASSIGNED ALT BY APPROX 800-900 FT. WE THEN ASKED FOR A MISSED APCH AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT .320 APCH MODE WAS ACTIVATED AND CONFIRMED.
