Narrative:

Engine became rough in flight--checked engine roughness emergency checklist then experienced total loss of power went through engine loss of power checklist, established glide and proceeded towards nearest airport. Landing at ZZZ without power. Aircraft towed to FBO maintenance who found a double magneto failure. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the magnetos were manufactured by slick and on inspection the area of the breaker points was all burned up. The reporter said it is almost impossible to believe that two magnetos, two separate units could fail at the same time. The reporter stated the airplane has only 140 hours total time.
