Narrative:
While performing the change order to modify the balance panel and elevator seals, the l-hand #3 outboard corner of the balance panel bent. I straightened the bend. The #3 outboard balance panel seal now has a 1/2 inch tear in it. Informed maintenance supervisor the l-hand #3 balance panel needs to be reinspected and the l-hand #3 balance panel outboard seal needs to be changed.

Title: A B737-800, DURING A MODIFICATION TO THE #3 ELEVATOR BAL PANEL AND SEAL REPLACEMENT, THE BAL PANEL CORNER WAS BENT. IN CORRECTION, THE BAL PANEL SEAT WAS TORN.
Narrative: WHILE PERFORMING THE CHANGE ORDER TO MODIFY THE BAL PANEL AND ELEVATOR SEALS, THE L-HAND #3 OUTBOARD CORNER OF THE BAL PANEL BENT. I STRAIGHTENED THE BEND. THE #3 OUTBOARD BAL PANEL SEAL NOW HAS A 1/2 INCH TEAR IN IT. INFORMED MAINT SUPVR THE L-HAND #3 BAL PANEL NEEDS TO BE REINSPECTED AND THE L-HAND #3 BAL PANEL OUTBOARD SEAL NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
