Narrative:
On climb from runway 12 through 15000 ft, #2 engine developed surge, followed by fire indication. Performed engine fire/failure checklist. As soon as we put cond lever shutoff, fire indication extinguished. Decided to pull fire handle to secure engine. Returned and landed.
