Narrative:

Aircraft was dispatched on flight on jun/sun/02 with a known discrepancy (fuel leak #2 engine). This discrepancy was known by both the captain and maintenance controller on duty. Maintenance was never notified to open cowlings and perform engine idle-run leak check to verify exactly where the leak was coming from, and the discrepancy was never logged in the aircraft logbook. When the aircraft called in range to ZZZ, flight crew notified maintenance of a possible fuel leak #2 engine.
