Narrative:

Right after takeoff from cmh, wbound at 3500 ft, climbing to 5000 ft, received a TCASII RA. Other aircraft was at our altitude less than 1 mi. I reported RA to departure control and asked if he was talking to other aircraft. He said no, he thought the tower was and it was a flight check aircraft. The airport had just switched departure direction maybe that caused the conflict. The bottom line is we were launched into traffic right after takeoff. I never saw the other aircraft and did not declare an near midair collision. Without TCASII alert, this could have been a disaster.
