Narrative:

Typical mia summer thunderstorm evening. Lots of ground stops and airport flow turnarounds. We were not involved in any of that, but the controllers seemed overwhelmed when we taxied in on the turnaround. We were cleared for takeoff, checklist completed and verified. At around 80 KTS, the controller cleared us for takeoff again. I was PNF and acknowledged 'previously cleared, on the roll.' there was no further communication. After clean-up, we went over the situation and both of us clearly heard our flight number. We were #1 and there were few aircraft moving at the time. We both remember being cleared for takeoff and a clear acknowledgement with the appropriate checklist items completed after being cleared for takeoff. We both felt it was quite disconcerting to be reclred while on the roll.
