Narrative:

On center frequency going into memphis at night. We were flight acy. On frequency with us was flight accy, flight axcy, and flight acxy. The controller issued the following as we heard and read back, 'flight acy descend and maintain FL280, pilot discretion to FL240.' at approximately FL285 controller asked what altitude we indicated. We responded 'leveling FL280.' he then responded 'no problem, that was for flight accy, remain at FL280.' too many similar call signs on same frequency at one time.

HE THEN RESPONDED 'NO PROB, THAT WAS FOR FLT ACCY, REMAIN AT FL280.' TOO MANY SIMILAR CALL SIGNS ON SAME FREQ AT ONE TIME.
