Narrative:
During en route climb, between 5000 ft and 6000 ft, encountered turbulence, which led to momentary loss of altitude and heading change. Aircraft was trimmed for climb with autoplt off. Aircraft rolled left approximately 120-130 degrees and began a descent. Regained control with wings level and elevator input. Am unsure of exact heading change and altitude loss. Returned to assigned heading and altitude.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: BE9L PLT LOST ACFT CTL IN TURB IN ZDC CLASS E.
Narrative: DURING ENRTE CLB, BTWN 5000 FT AND 6000 FT, ENCOUNTERED TURB, WHICH LED TO MOMENTARY LOSS OF ALT AND HEADING CHANGE. ACFT WAS TRIMMED FOR CLB WITH AUTOPLT OFF. ACFT ROLLED L APPROX 120-130 DEGS AND BEGAN A DSCNT. REGAINED CTL WITH WINGS LEVEL AND ELEVATOR INPUT. AM UNSURE OF EXACT HEADING CHANGE AND ALT LOSS. RETURNED TO ASSIGNED HEADING AND ALT.
