Narrative:
Took off at XA30 to pick up patient in ZZZ1. Landed in ZZZ1 XA58. Departed ZZZ1 XB15. At XB24, pilot had to perform unscheduled landing due to feeling sick to stomach. After landing, pilot proceeded to get violently ill. Patient and pilot transported by ground ambulance to ZZZ2. Factors: pilot ate at hospital cafeteria that am, approximately 6 hours previously. Pilot had no symptoms of illness earlier that day. Food poisoning was the cause as pilot had no ill symptoms shortly after. Prevention: don't eat at hospital cafeterias. Other than that, I cannot think of any other way to prevent further occurrences.
