Narrative:
After a stabilized circling approach was executed, the aircraft was on a 1 SM final approach to the landing runway. As the aircraft settled onto the runway, a 'pop' sound was heard from the left side of the aircraft. The aircraft slowly settled onto its left side, allowing the left wing and propeller to make contact with the runway. The approach was made with the gear down (3 green lights verified) and a stabilized descent rate. It appears as though a mechanical failure may have occurred on the left main gear. This incident resulted with no injuries.

Title: A KING AIR'S L GEAR FAILS UPON TOUCHDOWN, CAUSING A WINGTIP AND PROP STRIKE ON THE ASPHALT RWY 15 L42, LA.
Narrative: AFTER A STABILIZED CIRCLING APCH WAS EXECUTED, THE ACFT WAS ON A 1 SM FINAL APCH TO THE LNDG RWY. AS THE ACFT SETTLED ONTO THE RWY, A 'POP' SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE L SIDE OF THE ACFT. THE ACFT SLOWLY SETTLED ONTO ITS L SIDE, ALLOWING THE L WING AND PROP TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE RWY. THE APCH WAS MADE WITH THE GEAR DOWN (3 GREEN LIGHTS VERIFIED) AND A STABILIZED DSCNT RATE. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH A MECHANICAL FAILURE MAY HAVE OCCURRED ON THE L MAIN GEAR. THIS INCIDENT RESULTED WITH NO INJURIES.
