Narrative:
While trying to intercept airway on SID, ATC advised 'you're off the airway by approximately 8 mi.' VOR needle on VOR in use was giving incorrect information possibly stuck to the left of course. Flight was finished on #1 navigation. Correction navigation #2 transmitter was changed after aircraft landed.

Title: A DC9 CREW, DEPARTING SITKA, AK (PASI), WERE ADVISED BY ATC THEY WERE OFF COURSE BY APPROX 8 MI.
Narrative: WHILE TRYING TO INTERCEPT AIRWAY ON SID, ATC ADVISED 'YOU'RE OFF THE AIRWAY BY APPROX 8 MI.' VOR NEEDLE ON VOR IN USE WAS GIVING INCORRECT INFO POSSIBLY STUCK TO THE L OF COURSE. FLT WAS FINISHED ON #1 NAV. CORRECTION NAV #2 XMITTER WAS CHANGED AFTER ACFT LANDED.
