Primary Problem | Passenger Human Performance |
Narrative:
Bomb threat. Same crew brought aircraft in from dfw. After passenger deplaned, I was met on jetbridge by 2 'fams' (not using new procedure). While we were talking on jetbridge, cabin cleaner found a bomb threat letter on a seat that reads 'this is osama bin laden, there is a bomb on the plane crashing the plane.' the 'fam' team called their operations center who in turn notified the police and fbi. Ramp manager arrived and set up a conference call between me, soc and dispatch. While I was on the phone, police sergeant arrived and it was agreed that air carrier X international aircraft search team and police department bomb sniffing dogs would jointly search the aircraft. After a short time, the police were talked out of using the dogs because it would take too much time and the air carrier X team searched the aircraft. No bomb was found and we departed for atl approximately 1 hour late.
