Narrative:

After landing and clearing runway 27R (in miami) we contacted ground control, who gave us taxi instructions. After reviewing the airport diagram (due to the fact it was my second time into mia) we slowly began to taxi attempting to follow airport signage. We soon stopped aircraft and asked for taxi instructions ground control responded with the same instructions as before. When we informed him of the reason for confusion (due to the misnamed/mislabeled txwys) he responded 'this is miami, you will get used to it after a couple of times.' we eventually found our way to the terminal/gate without the help of ground control. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the captain indicated they landed on runway 27R and turned left off the runway at Z, then were then cleared left onto taxiway north to the gate. They had trouble identifying taxiway north and determining where the cross txwys were. This is when they asked for progressive instructions. The reporter mentioned the airport is under construction in that area.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG AND CLRING RWY 27R (IN MIAMI) WE CONTACTED GND CTL, WHO GAVE US TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. AFTER REVIEWING THE ARPT DIAGRAM (DUE TO THE FACT IT WAS MY SECOND TIME INTO MIA) WE SLOWLY BEGAN TO TAXI ATTEMPTING TO FOLLOW ARPT SIGNAGE. WE SOON STOPPED ACFT AND ASKED FOR TAXI INSTRUCTIONS GND CTL RESPONDED WITH THE SAME INSTRUCTIONS AS BEFORE. WHEN WE INFORMED HIM OF THE REASON FOR CONFUSION (DUE TO THE MISNAMED/MISLABELED TXWYS) HE RESPONDED 'THIS IS MIAMI, YOU WILL GET USED TO IT AFTER A COUPLE OF TIMES.' WE EVENTUALLY FOUND OUR WAY TO THE TERMINAL/GATE WITHOUT THE HELP OF GND CTL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE CAPT INDICATED THEY LANDED ON RWY 27R AND TURNED L OFF THE RWY AT Z, THEN WERE THEN CLRED L ONTO TXWY N TO THE GATE. THEY HAD TROUBLE IDENTIFYING TXWY N AND DETERMINING WHERE THE CROSS TXWYS WERE. THIS IS WHEN THEY ASKED FOR PROGRESSIVE INSTRUCTIONS. THE RPTR MENTIONED THE ARPT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN THAT AREA.
