Narrative:

Immediately after VMC takeoff from mia, experienced significant VHF communication difficulties. Complied with ATC clearance and fom guidance while attempting to re-establish reliable communications. Established communication with pie tower 118.3 while working problem and declared emergency due to communication difficulties. Disconnected captain's minitel which seemed to solve problem. Communicated with dispatch via ACARS. Considered satcom, HF, and air phone, but normal VHF was re-established. Good CRM and situational awareness led to safe conduct of flight and resolution of problem. Continued to destination without further incident.
