Narrative:

Aircraft Y, a B747, was taken out of the approach by myself, I gave him a right turn heading 090 degrees, maintain 2000 ft. Originally, he was inbound to aircraft Y runway 31R and on a heading of 310 degrees. Aircraft X was inbound behind aircraft Y the wind was 040 degrees at 12 KTS, and, consequently, drove aircraft Y considerably southeast of a 090 heading. Both aircraft X and aircraft Y were at 2000 ft. Approximately 2 mi lateral separation. The conflict alert sounded. Conflict possibly could have been avoided, if issued aircraft Y more of a nebound vector.

Title: N90 APCH CTLR PULLED A B747 OFF THE FINAL FOR SEQUENCING. WHILE TURNING, A XWIND PUSHED THE ACFT TOWARD THE FINAL, CAUSING A LOSS OF LATERAL SEPARATION WITH AN E135 ON APCH.

Narrative: ACFT Y, A B747, WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE APCH BY MYSELF, I GAVE HIM A R TURN HDG 090 DEGS, MAINTAIN 2000 FT. ORIGINALLY, HE WAS INBOUND TO ACFT Y RWY 31R AND ON A HDG OF 310 DEGS. ACFT X WAS INBOUND BEHIND ACFT Y THE WIND WAS 040 DEGS AT 12 KTS, AND, CONSEQUENTLY, DROVE ACFT Y CONSIDERABLY SE OF A 090 HDG. BOTH ACFT X AND ACFT Y WERE AT 2000 FT. APPROX 2 MI LATERAL SEPARATION. THE CONFLICT ALERT SOUNDED. CONFLICT POSSIBLY COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED, IF ISSUED ACFT Y MORE OF A NEBOUND VECTOR.
