Narrative:

I requested taxi clearance from the hover practice area to the flight school ramp on the opposite side of the airport. In order to get to the ramp, I had to cross 2 active parallel runways. I was given instructions from the tower to 'hold short of runway 14L.' upon receiving these instructions, I repeated them back to the tower. I proceeded across the first runway and held short of the second runway. The tower asked me to verify that I was holding short of the runway. I confirmed that I was 'holding short runway 14L.' I was given instructions then to proceed to the ramp. Upon arriving at the ramp, I realized I had confused runway 14L and runway 14R, and had inadvertently crossed an active runway. Following the incident, the tower called me over the phone to discuss what had happened. I explained my confusion of the runways and the tower decided not to take further action, but advised me to be more alert in the future.

Title: R-22 HELI RETURNING TO PARKING CROSSED RWY WITHOUT ATC CLRNC.

Narrative: I REQUESTED TAXI CLRNC FROM THE HOVER PRACTICE AREA TO THE FLT SCHOOL RAMP ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ARPT. IN ORDER TO GET TO THE RAMP, I HAD TO CROSS 2 ACTIVE PARALLEL RWYS. I WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE TWR TO 'HOLD SHORT OF RWY 14L.' UPON RECEIVING THESE INSTRUCTIONS, I REPEATED THEM BACK TO THE TWR. I PROCEEDED ACROSS THE FIRST RWY AND HELD SHORT OF THE SECOND RWY. THE TWR ASKED ME TO VERIFY THAT I WAS HOLDING SHORT OF THE RWY. I CONFIRMED THAT I WAS 'HOLDING SHORT RWY 14L.' I WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS THEN TO PROCEED TO THE RAMP. UPON ARRIVING AT THE RAMP, I REALIZED I HAD CONFUSED RWY 14L AND RWY 14R, AND HAD INADVERTENTLY CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY. FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT, THE TWR CALLED ME OVER THE PHONE TO DISCUSS WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I EXPLAINED MY CONFUSION OF THE RWYS AND THE TWR DECIDED NOT TO TAKE FURTHER ACTION, BUT ADVISED ME TO BE MORE ALERT IN THE FUTURE.
