Narrative:
I was with my student, preparing him to take his private pilot chkride. For takeoff, I asked him to demonstrate to me a soft field takeoff that he had performed many times before. The runway at that time was plowed about 40 ft out of its 60 ft width. When he gave full power, he wasn't aligned with the runway centerline. As the plane started to go to the left, I saw that he would not straighten out. I started to apply right rudder, but not enough to keep the plane from going into the snow. I then immediately aborted takeoff by cutting the power. The plane was still moving forward and was brought to a halt in 3 ft of snow. There was no injury to myself or student, and no damage at all to the airplane.
