Narrative:
During deicing process, aircraft was run-up to loosen ice on blades. With #1 engine running up to idle, vibration occurred. I went to shut down aircraft, and my hand left the full authority/authorized digital engine control switch, because of the vibration. I had difficulty turning off the full authority/authorized digital engine control switches. I attempted to shut down engine using the emergency shut-off, but discovered that the full authority/authorized digital engine control switches had been inadvertently turned off. After placing all switches into their proper position, a successful engine shutdown was accomplished. The aircraft turned on the pad, and visible damage was noticed on the tail rotor bumper. After further inspection, the rear landing gear tube was spread. It was never my intent to fly the helicopter at that time, just to aid in continuing deicing process of the helicopter.

Title: AN EMS PLT SUFFERS DAMAGE TO HIS ROTARY WINGED ACFT AFTER LOSING CTL OF IT DURING A DEICING PROC AT ZZZ, US.
Narrative: DURING DEICING PROCESS, ACFT WAS RUN-UP TO LOOSEN ICE ON BLADES. WITH #1 ENG RUNNING UP TO IDLE, VIBRATION OCCURRED. I WENT TO SHUT DOWN ACFT, AND MY HAND LEFT THE FULL AUTH DIGITAL ENG CTL SWITCH, BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION. I HAD DIFFICULTY TURNING OFF THE FULL AUTH DIGITAL ENG CTL SWITCHES. I ATTEMPTED TO SHUT DOWN ENG USING THE EMER SHUT-OFF, BUT DISCOVERED THAT THE FULL AUTH DIGITAL ENG CTL SWITCHES HAD BEEN INADVERTENTLY TURNED OFF. AFTER PLACING ALL SWITCHES INTO THEIR PROPER POS, A SUCCESSFUL ENG SHUTDOWN WAS ACCOMPLISHED. THE ACFT TURNED ON THE PAD, AND VISIBLE DAMAGE WAS NOTICED ON THE TAIL ROTOR BUMPER. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION, THE REAR LNDG GEAR TUBE WAS SPREAD. IT WAS NEVER MY INTENT TO FLY THE HELI AT THAT TIME, JUST TO AID IN CONTINUING DEICING PROCESS OF THE HELI.
