Narrative:
B767-200, sfo-jfk. During parking, set parking brake, checked light on, brake pressure normal. Turned off seatbelt sign and started shutdown flows after first officer shutdown both engines. Saw movement in peripheral vision and realized aircraft was moving. Stepped on pedal brakes to stop aircraft. I noted that parking brake handle was down in the off position. I reset brakes, parking brake light on, pressure normal. I told passenger what had happened, and that aircraft would be pushed back to jetway and to please be seated again. We were pushed back, reset brakes. System looked/operated normally. Completed shutdown checklist. Made logbook entry to check brake system. No passenger reported injury or falls. 2 flight attendants stated that they had hurt their backs in the emergency stop. Both walked off normally deplaning the aircraft. Aircraft had rolled 23 ft from the initial stop point. No damage to aircraft or injury to maintenance personnel. Left engine was 4-5 inches from aft jetway on final stop. Both pilots saw parking brake light on, on initial stop. System checked ok on 3 attempts to recycle and evaluate system. Reset and shutdown were normal -- second time around.
