Narrative:
Departing maf at approximately XA15 to fly remainder of pipeline before dark to big lake, tx. XA45 departed big lake, tx climbed to 5500 ft MSL and GPS direct to 4f2. Approximately 15 NM south of jen and over northern most portion of lake whitney, F16's buzzed me. I contacted ft worth center and told them I was VFR level at 5500 ft and being buzzed by F16's. They told me to turn northeast as I violated the crawford tfr at 28 NM. They handed me over to waco approach who took my information. I was cleared back to 4f2 panola co where the sheriff's office was waiting on me when I landed. I talked to special agent of the secret service, agreed to a plane search and they let me go afterward. I had my GPS set on the 80 NM scale and thought I was far enough to the north of the tfr.
