Narrative:
We were holding short of runway 19R. Tower gave us a clearance that we thought was to taxi in position and hold, and what he actually meant was taxi closer to the hold line and hold. His transmission was very fast and slightly garbled. I asked the first officer what was said by the tower, and he confirmed taxi in position and hold. Tower was very busy. No incident involved due to no lndgs, and an aircraft had just taken off.

Title: A B757 FLT CREW MISUNDERSTOOD THE TWR CTLR CLRNC AND TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD, WHEN THEY WERE CLRED TO PULL UP TO THE HOLD LINE ONLY.
Narrative: WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 19R. TWR GAVE US A CLRNC THAT WE THOUGHT WAS TO TAXI IN POS AND HOLD, AND WHAT HE ACTUALLY MEANT WAS TAXI CLOSER TO THE HOLD LINE AND HOLD. HIS XMISSION WAS VERY FAST AND SLIGHTLY GARBLED. I ASKED THE FO WHAT WAS SAID BY THE TWR, AND HE CONFIRMED TAXI IN POS AND HOLD. TWR WAS VERY BUSY. NO INCIDENT INVOLVED DUE TO NO LNDGS, AND AN ACFT HAD JUST TAKEN OFF.
