Narrative:
I flew from bdr to fme earlier this day, with flight following. The last ATC person clearing me to fme was quite rude to me. Approximately 3 hours later, I departed fme, heading southeast at 1300 ft to bdr via anp. I was not able to make contact with baltimore approach until I was near anp. While in process of contacting baltimore approach, a fighter jet cut across my path of flight, missing me by approximately 50 ft. I informed baltimore approach of the incident. They gave me flight following to bdr. They told me I did not call approach control soon enough for flight following. They told me to call an FAA number when I landed.
