Narrative:
While on localizer/DME runway 18R approach at dfw, ATC issued VFR traffic. We saw him ahead and to our left about 800 ft below us on the TCASII, but did not see him visually. Shortly thereafter, the other aircraft started climbing and we got a TCASII RA. We complied with the RA command and climbed to about 3500 ft MSL. We then saw the other aircraft pass about 500 ft beneath us. We descended back down to 3000 ft MSL and continued the approach.
