Narrative:

Cruising FL350 after deviation around buildups and cleared direct alpoe, position 102 NM west alpoe on the 270 degree radial, and on ZLC, center gave us a 30 degree right turn and descent to FL330 followed by a call to air carrier Y to turn right 30 degrees. Immediately following this we received an RA directing a climb. We accomplished this per the airline procedures to approximately 700 ft above FL350. At this point we received a 'clear of conflict' call and notified ATC we deviated and why. ATC again directed a descent to FL330 and apologized for the RA stating 'I left you at that altitude too long.' no passenger or flight attendants noticed the RA maneuver and we proceeded to den.
