Narrative:

I opened 3R door on aircraft X, which involves removing the door slide. I cleaned the door seal and sealing area. (The write-up was a loud squeal from the forward lower corner) reinstalled the door, slide, and signed the logbook. It occurred to me at about XA30 that evening that a slide installation might require an rii (FAA required inspection item) inspection. I called maintenance control, and he confirmed my fears. He then scheduled aircraft for an rii inspection.
