Narrative:
Landed at 114 pt 4 pounds. Maximum structural weight is 114 pt 0 pounds. Crew decided to land at existing weight rather than delay account thunderstorms within 10 mi of airport approaching from direction of approach. Maintenance advised, and I was advised to wait 53 mins after landing, inspect tires and brakes, and report condition to controller for release. Received mrd after push, and reviewed and placed it in the logbook. Release stated 'exceeded quick turn weight.' I interpreted this as being the appropriate release at the time. When returning to work the next morning, I contacted maintenance controller to question the release, and was advised this was not the correct release. The controller advised that he would document and follow up on this information.
