Narrative:
Inadvertently flew into a 30 NM temporary restr zone in place while flying my usual weekly pipeline patrol route. How it was discovered: noticed a police helicopter in trail. Tried contacting him on 121.5 -- no response. Called phl control tower and was told to land immediately. Had been monitoring 121.5 entire flight -- received one call earlier which I responded to, then nothing. Tried twice more on 121.5 with no response. Contributing factors: did not get a WX briefing before flight over the phone. Tried to, but got put on hold and got tired of waiting. Used computer terminal at FBO to check WX at airports along route. During my flts the previous day, briefers said nothing about a temporary restricted airspace zone. On the day of the incident, it was a beautiful flying day and seeing that the WX was clearly VFR, getting a WX briefing was not a pressing concern. Had not heard of any increase in the national alert system, so was not too concerned about flight restr. Did not see, hear, or read anything.

Narrative: INADVERTENTLY FLEW INTO A 30 NM TEMPORARY RESTR ZONE IN PLACE WHILE FLYING MY USUAL WKLY PIPELINE PATROL RTE. HOW IT WAS DISCOVERED: NOTICED A POLICE HELI IN TRAIL. TRIED CONTACTING HIM ON 121.5 -- NO RESPONSE. CALLED PHL CTL TWR AND WAS TOLD TO LAND IMMEDIATELY. HAD BEEN MONITORING 121.5 ENTIRE FLT -- RECEIVED ONE CALL EARLIER WHICH I RESPONDED TO, THEN NOTHING. TRIED TWICE MORE ON 121.5 WITH NO RESPONSE. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: DID NOT GET A WX BRIEFING BEFORE FLT OVER THE PHONE. TRIED TO, BUT GOT PUT ON HOLD AND GOT TIRED OF WAITING. USED COMPUTER TERMINAL AT FBO TO CHK WX AT ARPTS ALONG RTE. DURING MY FLTS THE PREVIOUS DAY, BRIEFERS SAID NOTHING ABOUT A TEMPORARY RESTRICTED AIRSPACE ZONE. ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT, IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL FLYING DAY AND SEEING THAT THE WX WAS CLEARLY VFR, GETTING A WX BRIEFING WAS NOT A PRESSING CONCERN.
