Narrative:
At FL330, 45 mi northeast orf, engine #1 overheat light illuminated. Per QRH (SOP) engine thrust was reduced on #1 engine to idle, over heat light extinguished. Operated engine at idle thrust, emergency was declared due to inability to maintain cruise altitude. Requested vectors to orf where an uneventful flaps 15 degree landing was accomplished.
