Narrative:
I performed a routine exterior and interior preflight. Taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, and descent, approach and landing were normal and uneventful. Approach and landing were accomplished to runway 25L in las. Conditions were VMC with a visual approach and landing. After landing and shutdown checklists were accomplished with no EICAS or status messages present or shutdown in las. Left engine was shutdown on turn-in to gate after cool down period. While checking outside the jetway to ensure the air conditioning was being attached to aircraft, I noticed ground crew inspecting left engine. Upon visual inspection, we noticed that the left engine had sustained damage. Logbook entry was not accomplished as aircraft had already been turned over to maintenance and ground personnel in las by the time damage was discovered. Extent and cause of engine damage is yet undetermined.
