Narrative:
#1 propeller required #1 blade change. The retaining ring set also needed to be changed. The wrong type of retaining ring set was procured by the mechanic. I was the quality control inspector on the job and observed the retaining ring get installed. Later, it was discovered that the incorrect ring set was installed and it was changed at a line station. These ring sets are virtually identical and are distinguished by part number and class control number.
