Narrative:

After refueling at cre, the pilot called local traffic, 'repositioning west side of cre for southwest takeoff and right turnout departing northwest for beaumont.' a second radio call was made as the aircraft initiated takeoff. The pilot heard another aircraft making local calls inbound to crew, no other calls were heard. After leveling off at 1200 ft MSL and turning on course for beaumont, a dark blue BH206L passed my helicopter coming from the 5 O'clock position and crossing to the 11 O'clock position. Position of the other helicopter relative to mine was such that it placed the other helicopter in my blind spot by the upper right door frame and the cabin roof, until it was at the 2 O'clock position. At the closest point, vertical separation was estimated to be 20 ft and 15 ft horizontally. Maneuvering away from the other aircraft, I followed the other aircraft to its destination and landing in cameron, la. I continued on to beaumont, tx, airport for an uneventful flight and landing, where I dropped off passenger and continued on to final destination of galveston, tx.

Title: A BELL 206L PLT HAD AN NMAC WITH ANOTHER HELI DURING DEP FROM CRE.

Narrative: AFTER REFUELING AT CRE, THE PLT CALLED LCL TFC, 'REPOSITIONING W SIDE OF CRE FOR SW TKOF AND R TURNOUT DEPARTING NW FOR BEAUMONT.' A SECOND RADIO CALL WAS MADE AS THE ACFT INITIATED TKOF. THE PLT HEARD ANOTHER ACFT MAKING LCL CALLS INBOUND TO CREW, NO OTHER CALLS WERE HEARD. AFTER LEVELING OFF AT 1200 FT MSL AND TURNING ON COURSE FOR BEAUMONT, A DARK BLUE BH206L PASSED MY HELI COMING FROM THE 5 O'CLOCK POS AND XING TO THE 11 O'CLOCK POS. POS OF THE OTHER HELI RELATIVE TO MINE WAS SUCH THAT IT PLACED THE OTHER HELI IN MY BLIND SPOT BY THE UPPER R DOOR FRAME AND THE CABIN ROOF, UNTIL IT WAS AT THE 2 O'CLOCK POS. AT THE CLOSEST POINT, VERT SEPARATION WAS ESTIMATED TO BE 20 FT AND 15 FT HORIZLY. MANEUVERING AWAY FROM THE OTHER ACFT, I FOLLOWED THE OTHER ACFT TO ITS DEST AND LNDG IN CAMERON, LA. I CONTINUED ON TO BEAUMONT, TX, ARPT FOR AN UNEVENTFUL FLT AND LNDG, WHERE I DROPPED OFF PAX AND CONTINUED ON TO FINAL DEST OF GALVESTON, TX.
